Message from the Pastor
Ephesians 6:10-20
The writer Paul records a very powerful message for the church today. Our church, New Vision, is now in the middle of our 40 day challenge. We are engaged in War. This war is a war only won on our knees in battle. Our challenge is for fasting, prayer, and giving. I believe God is answering. Anyone who is engaged in this challenge with us, and does not realize that we are in a spiritual battle please see me. Many of us are directly engaged in multiple attacks from the enemy. Jobs, family, mind, physical and the list could go on. I believe the following Word is for the church.
Paul instructs us in Ephesians 6 that we are to put on the whole armor of God. Our armor is only complete when we actively cover ourselves, family, friends, and church with prayer. We wrestle againste spiritual forces and wickedness. I especially like verse 13, where Paul says: "When you have done all you can do by prayer, fasting, and giving then stand." This reminds me of the scripture in Exodus 14:13 where the children of Israel were pursued by the Egyptian army, and were stopped by the Red Sea. Moses stook and declared: "Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord." God delivered Israel that day, because they stood still. We as a body of believers must learn to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
Paul admonished us farther by urging us to become ambassadors for Christ. When we become legal, spiritual ambassadors, covered by our armor, full of the Word, we will absolutely be victorious. Be covered!
